DR. DAVID GOLDSTROM is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Pastoral Counselor. Currently serving as a U.S. Army Chaplain at Fort Drum and in private practice in Rochester and Watertown, NY.

EXPERIENCE PROFILE:

Therapist – caring, competent, collegial and creative; experienced working with individuals, couples and families of different faiths and backgrounds under difficult circumstances – a family counseling center, hospital, battlefields in Iraq and on the home front.

Educator – family life chaplain trainer, organized graduate medical education seminars in biomedical ethics, supervised a clinical pastoral education program, taught Spiritual Care in Medicine in a family practice residency, organized adult Jewish education classes.

Leader – applied vision and influence to create a pastoral education program, managed chaplains and volunteers; administered a hospital pastoral care department.

2001-present CHAPLAIN, U.S. ARMY

- Deputy Chief of Pastoral Care at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center. Responsible for direct pastoral care; supervised and trained pastoral care volunteers; developed and maintained departmental budget; and served on the hospital ethics committee.

- Initiated and supervised a clinical pastoral education program in 2006.

1994-2001 CHIEF WARRANT OFFICER, U.S. ARMY RESERVE

- Command of U.S. Army Transportation Corps Vessel Harpers Ferry. Vessel Master in the Army Reserves for six years while attending college and yeshiva.

- Self-employed computer consultant and database systems analyst.
